FYI? A concept to consider:
Northern California chapter of Women’s Caucus for the Arts (NCWCA), always holds an open to all pot luck dinner before its monthly board meeting. AND, it usually has a program of interest. Their July meeting includes the potluck but not a program to lure the uninvolved members into attending.
I have only attended one all day event, a gathering at Djerassi with a provided lunch and several activities. I took a 1 hour (?) cyanotype workshop and a time spent on hand-stitching Michelle Wilson’s Rhino project.
That was a special all-day event, but the monthly meetings rotate between locales, always feature an open potluck dinner and 90% of the time a program (a 20 minute presentation on something relevant to artists).
