a question about a Zokei Press susan howe 12 May 2022 08:19 PDT

A fellow CSP member, Georgia Sears, sent me this request and I’m passing it on to the members list. Perhaps someone can help.

Susan Howe

Georgia Sears writes:

Dear brother and sister CSP members:

I own the referenced Zokei press from Japan and am the third owner. I am hoping to find someone who also has a Zokei as I was informed by second owner that 1 man brought it to her house in pieces and put it back together on site. The fly wheel, press bed and base are easily moved separately, however, I am not confident to dismantle the barrels and main calibration system; as we know, that is the really heavy and precious part. Also, is there a person in this or Bay Area good at calibrating etching presses?

If you, or anyone you know of, is familiar with this press I would so appreciate any help with this. I am moving my studio from my living/dining room into a downtown studio space in the next few weeks and moving prices have dramatically increased from the high price I paid 4 years ago just for the press.

I live in downtown Santa Cruz where CSP annual meeting this coming weekend is and can be reached at 831-427-2043. I will be around the Tannery to see the exhibits, however, I missed the deadline to attend.

Thanking you in advance for any help you can offer.
